We offer patch testing to chemicals for patients with histories of recurrent or chronic rashes. These are more common in women in their 40s & 50s and are often due to chemicals in skin and hair care products. When it is not clear what the trigger for the rash is, especially when it is on the face, eyelids, neck or hands, we perform this test to search for the trigger.
